TOM'S HOME!!!

How ever much I LOVE to play mom, it is so nice when grandpa comes home and helps distribute the load of playing mom to a 10 year old. Lybi is an amazing little girl, she's been through alot in her life, and all things considered, she's amazing. She got her report card and got an average of 3.75 or4's on every subject ( for all you non elementary grading system knowing people that is the equivalent of A's and one A-) She was pretty excited needles to say. She's learning how to cook things with me, and has chilled out alot to the point where I can actually have the patience to have her in the kitchen with me to cook.

Tom finally got home yesterday afternoon. He's been down in Arizona for some old folks fair-thats really not what it is, but thats what I got from it when he was explaining it to me :) He loves to go gold hunting, and they have an entire section of the fair that is dedicated to different minerals and rocks and things like that. He brought me home a gorgeous turquoise necklace, I've been so spoiled since I met this family. He is such a sweet man, he's always thinking of ways that he can help someone out, or just make their days a little bit brighter. He walked in the door with a visor on that has some fake silver hair attached to it....all just to see the reaction that Lybi and I would give him. I'll have to put a picture up, its pretty funny to see the bald tan head with a tupee attached to his visor.... He did get quite a few giggles out of the two of us, and thats exactly what he was going for. Love that guy...

It is FINALLY the weekend...I am FINALLY getting my hair done..I haven't gotten it done since..I think October when we had our family pictures done. Its bad. The super bowl is this weekend...Tim's pretty excited. We don't really have anything big planned, just going to see if my family- my Dad in particular- want to come over and watch it with us. Sometimes, just spending time with your family is the best part of any sort of get together...

- 100

So I was talking to my mom this weekend, and she told me that she just hit her 100 pound mark on her weight loss! She looks SO good and I am so glad that she was able to do somthing for herself to get her body and health back. It was a tough road, especially at first, and it even still has some effects on her- like not being able to digest any sugar...blah- but she looks amazing...soon she's going to be skinnier than me..not cool. Way to go mom!

......

So this weekend was a little chill, we didnt have to much that we HAD to get done...I didnt have any school Friday, my teacher decided that we needed a work day, I'm ok with that, that just means I might get another 2 hours of sleep! yahoo! Tom and Tim were busy getting Tom ready to go on his annual trip down to Quartzite, where he goes gold hunting. We are playing mom and day more than usual for the next couple of weeks, and of course the one weekend we actually get asked to do something with other human beings, we have to worry about finding something for Lybi to do. Yes, she is ten, and a very mature ten at that, but "she doesnt like to be home alone". My cute little sister came over, and hung out with us all afternoon, so she said she would just hang out with Lyb while we went and played games with Harmony and Derek.

They have gotten Tim hooked on Settlers of Catan. He plays it online by himself now...thanks guys ;) It is a fun game though, and we had a good time interacting with other people besides our family...and Jack and Jan of course...hehe. Sunday was stake conference, and I'll admit, we didn't go. We probably should have, but sleep was just so much more enticing that morning...that is a rare occurance that sleep is acutally recieved in the amount needed, and my body just wouldn't let me force it to wake up any earlier than it absolutely had to.

My family ended up coming to our house for a yummy sunday dinner -thanks mom for buying all the food:) - We just hung out and the boys watched football, and the girls watched a cinderella story. Good times, those are some of my favorite times, when my whole family is just chilling, no fighting, comfortable, and relaxing. It is so nice to be able to just chill in our new basement, which isnt all that new anymore, but it still feels new to me. It is wonderful to walk down the stairs with a normal carpet on them, not a forrest green floral print that has been there for probably close to 20 years, then walk into the basement that has normal, fresh, clean walls and carpet. No more blue rooster wallpaper borders, and no more crazy dot patterns all over the walls, juice (and who knows what else) stained forrest green carpets, ah its SOOOOOOO nice. Thanks Tom for letting us do it, and Tim for helping me feed my obsession with clean and new things.

Now its back to the never ending struggle with school...blah. I just wish I had more hours in one day, I want to go home and spend time with Tim, not read my stupid history text book, and do stupid Chemistry equations. YUCK. oh well, at least I'll get a little smarter from it?

Over and OUT.

cali-forn-i-a

So Jan was able to be here for this christmas, yahoo! We decided that the four of us wanted to do another little trip like we usually do when Jan comes home. We tried to think of something that all of us could afford, and that we could squeeze into our crazy lifes. We thought about going to Vegas for a couple of nights, but decided that we had already been there to many times, so Disneyland was next on our list. We decided to leave Christmas night after we had done all of our stuff with our families, and ended up getting caught in the HORRIBLE snow storm. Our plan was to try to get to mesquite, then drive the rest of the way to Cali Friday and spend the day at the beach. Needless to say, that didn't happen. We drove almost 5 hours, and got to Fillmore, which for those of you who don't know Utah, it should only take 2 or 2.5 hours to get there...it was bad. They ended up closing the Freeway, and we stayed at the WONDERFUL (not) best western in Fillmore. We got to California, alive and well. The first night we were there, Jan proposed, yahoo...now they can be married too! :) We went to Disney land for three days, a word to the wise, don't go during christmas time, not cool. We had lots of fun, and it was good to get away from work and family and craziness and just be with our best friends. We went out to eat...alot...but thats what vacations are for right? We splurged and went to two restraunts in one night....ok not to eat, but we ate dinner at PF Changs, and went and got cheesecake from next door at the Cheesecake Factory..MMMMM the BEST cheesecake EVER! Then...on the way home, we decided to stay a night in Vegas, and guess where we ate again....thats right, the Cheesecake Factory, and yes we bought ANOTHER whole cheesecake.. talk about packing on the holiday pounds. I had more cheesecake in 4 days, than all the sweets all winter combined! oops..

Isn't he cute? I like him alot :)

This one was one of my favorites, but by the time I had to pick my bridals, I just picked one fast so I could get the prints made in time...needless to say, I didn't really notice this one until it was to late...oh well

WOW

So.... I have decided that I waste most of my day sitting on my butt at work, I could attempt to try and keep a blog. Our life really isn't all that exciting, but it has to get more exciting eventually doesn't it? I made this blog forever ago, and just have never gotten around to actually posting anything on it. This is my attempt to keep something else up in my life. HERE WE GO!

Tim and I met each other through some friends on a blind date, it was definitely not going to go anywhere through my eyes..he was ok, but just not what I wanted, or wanting a boyfriend at the time. I was still in high school and loving doing whatever I wanted with my friends and not being tied down to any commitments. That all changed. We kept hanging out, and then we started doing more dating.....you know how the rest goes. We got engaged in February..i think the 23rd, i know horrible that I can't even remember the date..and started to plan the wedding! Jackie was going Europe doing a study abroad in March, so I had to get as much stuff done with her here as I could! Needless to say, I did, except for Bridals :) Things seemed to be going to plan, the wedding was close, we did the final things to get ready for the temple, took out our endownments on Tom and Shauna's 40th Wedding Anniversary, that was so amazing. I was so overwhelmed, but I was so peaceful at the same time. About a week before we were to get married, Shauna had a massive ceasure causing her to forget everything about herself, her life, her family, her surroundings and everything. Luckily family was close enough and got to her fast. She was taken to the ER and scans were done of her brain, and two masses were found. When I was told I was SO scared, and could not even imagine what else could go wrong before our perfect day was supposed to happen. She was in the hospital for about 4 days, then they let her come home on her insistance that she was not going to be missing any part of our lifes during this important time. She was to sick to come to the Endownment session, but was able to make it to the acutal Wedding Ceremony, which was so much more important to both of us. 2 Days after the wedding, she had brain surgery to attempt to remove the two brain tumors. They were semi successful, but could not remove all of them due to locations in the brain. She underwent Chemo therapy and radiation for close to a month before the doctors told us to take her home and let her be comfortable with her family. She died on September 3, 2008. I feel SO incredibly pleasured to be able to live with Tom and Shauna the first few months of our marriage and be able to help take care of her. It was definately not an easy task, but I learned things about her and her sweet spirit that I never would have learned any other way. She was such an amazing woman, mother, and grandmother, and I hope that I can learn from her and her life and make my life a little better.
We are still living with Tom, he is amazing, and I really do love him like my own dad. Hes a goofy old man and always good for a hug or a chuckle. We have Tim's neice Lybi living with us. She is a very opinionated 10 year old little girl, but we still love her:) Tim is going to School full time at the U of U trying to chug through his last few semesters of Civil Engineering. He works part time also at the U in a concrete lab. I am going to school part time at Weber, and working full time as the Office Manager for Pinnacle Hospice. Life is so busy, yet at the end of the day all I want to do is go home and be with my family.
I am so blessed to have met Tim, he is absolutely amazing, and has gone through so much. He teaches me new things everyday, and will someday be a great dad. He is the love of my life, and I cant wait to spend the rest of my life with him!
